JOB TITLE: HR Administrator
LOCATION: Head Office, Moorgate
CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time
HOURS: 35 hours over 5 days per week
PAY RATE: Up to £28,000 per annum
JOB OVERVIEW
Are you looking for your first step into HR? We have an exciting opportunity in our small but fast paced HR & Payroll team. If you are currently working in a role managing people, have a basic understanding of basic UK employment law and strong administrative skills we would love to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is not an exhaustive list of your responsibilities and in the interests of the day-to-day operation of the business you may be required to carry out work that is not detailed in this document.
Employee Relations
- Support the day to day management of the HR inbox and HR system task list
- Managing and championing our HR systems
- Awareness of best working practices and basic employment law
- Maintain personnel records
- Prepare HR documents
- Provide first line advice to managers
- Answer employee queries about HR-related issues
- Contribute to the maintenance of people metrics
- Work collaboratively with the Head of HR and HR Officer on any other ad-hoc projects that fall out of business requirements or the people plan
The ideal candidate will have a natural interest in HR, who is agile, curious and proactive with their learning opportunities in role. Their attention to detail is key and effectively manage their own time.
Payroll
- Assist Payroll department by providing relevant employee information
- Keen to develop understanding of payroll knowledge to be able to confidently support in the absence of Payroll Officer
The ideal candidate will be highly numerate, able to work collaboratively and work to tight deadlines.
Recruitment
- Providing support to line managers with Apricot careers site
- Liaise with hiring managers to book interviews
- Providing adhoc support with the recruitment process at the request of HR team and line managers
- Keen to grow understanding of recruitment tools
- Provide support with all recruitment administration, including rejection letters, offer paperwork and setting up new starts on the HR system

SKILLS & KNOW-HOW
- Currently working as a Supervisor or Manager within Retail or Hospitality sector, having a good understanding of people management or proven work experience as a HR Administrator
- Has a good understanding of current employment legislation & working best practices
- Preferred experience using HR and or payroll software
- Highly IT literate
- Strong personal professionalism
- Has high levels of emotional intelligence and keen to understand the business and culture
- CIPD qualification preferred but not essential
- Able to work confidently and collaboratively with, senior members of management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adept user of MS Office Suite
- Able to confidently and effectively manage a number of priorities at the same time, while managing the expectations of line managers
- Agile and able to work to tight and changeable deadlines, remaining calm and practical when under pressure
- Is happy to work independently and on own initiative
- Enjoys working in an informal and flat structure
- Takes a proactive approach to own learning
- Willingness to take and give feedback and offer suggestions for productivity
