What you'll do:
As a member of our HPE Services Apprentice Scheme, you will have the opportunity to experience working in a variety of functions across the business as you rotate between a number of different departments, depending on your preference and the needs of the business, such as:
- Inside Sales – Where you would support a sales team that sells to either HPE’s partners or end customers in the UK. To begin with the tasks required would be sales administration type work such as helping to manage sales forecasts, analysing and entering data. Over time the intention would be to participate in sales campaigns and engage in sales calls with customers directly.
- Pursuit – Joining a team where you would support the creation of customised services solutions to meet a particular customer’s unique requirements. Your role would be to assist senior Solution Architects in the creation of proposals through extracting and analysing data before, when your progress allows, moving on to create simple solution proposals for customers in the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa.
- Commercial Management – Join our senior Commercial Managers who negotiate Terms & Conditions with our customers, managing risk for the HPE business and working closely alongside of Finance and Legal teams. For example, in this role you might learn about different types of contracts, service level agreements, dependencies, risks and financial penalties.
- Business Operations & Programme Management – This team manage the day-to-day running of our Advisory & Professional Services business. In this role you might learn about financial governance, as well as how we implement strategic programmes across the business e.g. the rollout of a new tool or process.
- Strategic Deal Pursuit – Work alongside our Deal Managers to experience what it’s like to lead an end-to-end deal in response to a customers requirements. In this team you will learning to manage people, processes, tools and budgets as part of a diverse deal team.
- Sales Operations – Being part of a team who use their expertise to administer services contracts plus work on business process improvement initiatives. The type of work would involve creating contract documents, including pricing, data analyses plus dealing with sales queries. There would also be the opportunity to get involved in business improvement projects through looking at how things such as contract creation processes could be improved across the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa.
- Business Development – Assisting a team whose role is identifying new market opportunities then creating sales programs and sales enablement to help the HPE sales teams sell more services. Initially supporting the Business Development Managers to create sales programs to generate new business the role would evolve into owning a sales growth initiative end to end across the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa.

What you’ll need:
- Completed A Levels, or a BTEC Level 3 (Graduation year: 2022 or 2023)
- You must be eligible to work in the UK and be available to begin on 29 August 2023
- Ability to demonstrate some work experience or participation in meaningful extra-curricular activities is beneficial
- Ability to learn and collaborate with our teams
- Comfortable engaging & building rapport
