Job description
About us
We’re Abri, a housing association based in the south of England. One of the largest in fact. We've got 35,000 homes and 1,500 colleagues. And if all our 80,000 residents lived in the same place, we’d have a town roughly the size of Guildford.
We’re a passionate bunch. We think we can make a real difference. Homelessness, poverty, inequality, a lack of affordable housing. They’re all linked. They’re issues that affect so many, young and old alike. And we don’t think that’s right. We want to give people the chance to dream big and be who they want to be. Homes are at the heart of everybody’s lives. And we exist to help make good homes, and good lives a reality for everyone.
About you
We’ve all got different backgrounds, strengths and experiences. But we share the same values. It’s these shared values that bring us together as one team.
Our colleagues embrace these every day. Be the difference to our customers and colleagues, always curious and look for better solutions, achieve together by working in partnership with others, own it openly through working with others in an open and honest way, and finally embrace possibility and see changes and challenges as welcomed opportunities.
If you share our values and want to make a real difference in the world, you’re on to a winner and we’d love to hear from you!
About Our Team
This is an exciting time to join our busy housing partnership team because we have just completed a transformation of our customer partnership services to a new operating model with a focussed office and field-based housing partnership function.
With a dynamic digital offering we can work efficiently in the field delivering a consistently high standard of housing and tenancy management service prioritising our customer, their home and community.
With a large number of properties covering a vast geography across the south and southwest we have developed 4 field-based housing partnership teams creating a real local feel to our services, each covering a zone which you can see from the map in the available documents. Each team has 8-11 members plus a Housing Partnership Manager. This vacancy is in the Orchard team covering a patch of properties in Somerset.
Zone 1 Orchard (red)
1 x housing partner (field) predominantly covering Wincanton, Langport and surrounding areas.
Your New Role
We are looking for experienced housing professionals to join our team and this is a permanent role within zone red covering a patch in the Somerset area.
As a field based housing partner managing a patch of approximately 800 properties you will spend 70-80% of your time in the field delivering a proactive tenancy and property management service, as well as responding to customer enquiries as appropriate. The closest office is in Yeovil which you will be required to attend for training, team meetings and team collaboration days but we also have an agile working policy so working from home or other locations in between customer appointments is an option.
Your role will be to connect the customer to Abri by carrying out home visits at key stages of the tenancy, ensuring they have the skills, information and support required to succeed. You’ll have a focus on property condition to make sure it is suitable, safe and being maintained by both the customer and us to a satisfactory standard.
You’ll have a regular presence in our communities, completing estate and block inspections and will work with other teams and external partners to make sure our neighbourhoods are welcoming, clean, safe and where people want to live.
This is an amazing opportunity to work with a driven and motivated team so if you are digitally savvy and a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, this maybe the job for you!
What you can expect from us
We want our colleagues at all levels to be bold, inspiring and not afraid to speak up and be their authentic selves.
Your wellbeing is really important to us, so you can expect a competitive reward package to ensure you and your family are supported at work and at home.
We’ll work with you to help you reach your goals through personal development plans and our in-house People Development team.
Depending on your role you may need to work a specific shift pattern, or you may have greater flexibility to choose when and where you work. Either way, we strive to ensure all colleagues have a degree of flexibility to attend life’s important events.
Be yourself
Abri is committed to promoting an inclusive culture. We want our colleagues to bring their individual differences, life experiences and knowledge into the workplace and we welcome their contribution to our amazing company. Everyone is different, everyone is unique.
To our agency friends
We already have a number of carefully selected agency partners who know our business well and who support our in-house recruitment team during exceptionally busy periods. We’re not looking to add to our preferred supplier list right now but if you’d like to be considered at a future date please don’t hesitate to register on our procurement portal
Applicants must be prepared to travel and provide cover (by exception) across the zones when required. Applicants need to live within a reasonable distance to the zone and patch to be effective in the role.
