About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to spearhead and lead the council’s housing options services.
You will provide collaborative leadership across our housing advice, homelessness and private sector housing services. You'll instill a positive working culture, generate creative solutions to prevent homelessness and manage service demand in an efficient and cost-effective way.
With an expert knowledge of homelessness and statutory duties towards those presenting as homeless, you will be experienced in developing and maintaining effective, outcome focussed partnership working. You'll have the ability to work across multiple teams to deliver transformation and service improvement projects. You will maintain and develop a flexible portfolio of temporary accommodation and private sector housing options to meet need.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Housing Services you will lead on the development of homelessness and associated strategies, providing expert advice to our Corporate Management team and elected members. You will work closely with our Housing Needs Manager in ensuring allocations policy remains an effective homelessness prevention tool.

Additional information
Scale M - postholder able to carry out the majority of all duties of the post, but requiring some additional training, supervision or experience.
Scale N - postholder able to carry out full duties of the post with minimal supervision.
Progression to scale N is at the discretion of the head of service having regard to the competence of the postholder.
The postholder will be subject to two months notice on either side.
A full and current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role.
