Housing Officer

Here within our Initial Accommodation and Support Services Contract, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Officer with strong interpersonal skills. We focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system, ensuring that vulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need along with hotel accommodation.

In this role you will ensure that your allocated hotel is safe, habitable, fit for purpose and fully equipped. Ensuring that all Service Users maintain compliance with the conditions of their support provision. You will be the designated point of contact to support the services users with their requirements. As well as liaising with the hotel and other third parties
As a key member of the Housing Officer team, you will be self-motivated and able to use your own initiative to work to tight timescales.
Working Hours
Day shifts and Night shifts (7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am)
12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off basis.
What you’ll need to do the role
Good interpersonal skills are required as you will be working with people where English is not their first language, so experience of dealing with people on a face-to-face basis is essential.
This is a role which requires excellent organisational skills due to the variety of accountabilities, which also include the following:
Administering operational cash- De-escalation and managing conflict
- Responding to service user request; Complaints, Medical and interpreter requests
- Reporting breaches of T&Cs e.g., Antisocial behaviour
- Reporting any property faults identified
- Working with transportation teams to ensure service users are available for dispersal, relocation, and other transport activities
Due to the nature of the role, Security clearance at Counter Terrorism Check level as well as Disclosure and Barring service checks are required. All offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office. Which means you must have lived permanently in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
