The Mousetrap Inn is a beautifully restored Victorian Inn in the best Cotswold tradition. With 11 bedrooms, a bustling bar, restaurant and on-site car parking, we are ideally situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of Bourton on the Water.
Open all day, every day, to everyone, whether resident or not, we welcome families, friends and of course dogs to the Inn.
Join the team as Housekeeper, and you’ll play a crucial role in getting every hotel stay off to a great start. Housekeeping isn’t just about making beds; it’s about making a positive first impression and enjoying the energetic buzz of a hotel – giving customers that wonderful feeling of opening the door to their hotel.

You won’t need previous housekeeping experience,
First of all, you don’t need any cleaning experience because we value the person you are over the experience you’ve got. But you’ll instantly know when something’s not quite right. A mark, stain, or smudge. And you’ll pull out all stops to get everything clean and fresh on time. Using cleaning equipment safely, from bedrooms to bathrooms, sheets to shiny mirrors. And supporting your teammates. All so our guests have a brilliant time, every time.
Job Description:
- Cleaning and maintaining the bedroom, bathroom and communal areas within the building
- Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping, and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard
- Ensuring surface areas, floors, doors, windows, bathroom sanitaryware and other touchpoints are cleaned and sanitised regularly
- Performing additional cleaning duties as and when required, such as mopping up spillages quickly and efficiently
- Emptying and disposing of bin waste
- Distributing clean linen around the bedrooms, stripping /making-up beds and collecting/setting-out fresh bathroom linen
- Ensuring your team prepare and distribute the correct room amenities for the various categories of rooms, prior to guests’ arrival and as per guest requests, inspecting rooms as required
- Report any damage, deterioration or items that require technical maintenance to your line manager as early as possible
- Ensure all accommodation rooms are ready at the expected times
- Ensuring all areas are clean, presentable and safe for visitors by following the required policies and procedures
- Following all health & safety guidelines when using equipment
What can we offer you?
- Starting from £10.50 per hour plus a fair share of tips
- 20 - 40 hours per week over 5 days
