Job description

Dakota Hotel based in Glasgow city centre are seeking a reliable and hard-working individual to join our Housekeeping Team in the role of Evening Housekeeping Attendant.

Located on West Regent St, we are easily accessible by bus and train, being less than a 15min walk from Buchannan St Bus Station, Queen St and Central Station.

We are an 83-bedroom luxury hotel boasting a destination cocktail bar, Jack’s Bar, cigar terrace, champagne room, and brasserie-style Grill.

CONTRACT AND REWARD

Earnings are £10.75 per hour irrespective of age, paid weekly.

The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 12 hours per week and typical shifts will be 5pm-9pm working any 3 days out of 7.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To complete the even turndown service for our guest bedrooms, including servicing bathrooms, turning down the bed and refreshing guest supplies.
  • To service a guest bedroom as and when required, making beds, cleaning bathroom, dusting, hoovering and mopping.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the guest public areas, mainly the public bathrooms and corridors.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of team areas, bathrooms and corridors.
  • Be able to carry out tasks such as vacuum cleaning, dusting and polishing, mopping, and lifting items such as duvets.
  • Action notes on guest preferences and requests to personalize guest stays e.g. provide firm pillows, setting up a cot and extra bed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines and usage of cleaning equipment such as steamers.
  • Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times such as those pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.


APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will have/be:

  • A minimum of one years working experience in a cleaning role is strongly preferred.
  • You will work alone in guest bedrooms and therefore must be able to be self-driven and work at pace.
  • Have a keen eye for detail when cleaning
  • Able to be physically active and be standing for the entirety of your shift.
  • Be able to be physically active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at pace.
  • An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
  • Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to continually work weekends.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team.
