REPORTING TO: Housekeeping Manager

OVERALL PURPOSE: To achieve and maintain the standards and services in housekeeping as set out by the Manager regarding the company vision and mission. To ensure that the accommodation meets the customer’s requirements and maintain the cleanliness of rooms and the comfort of guests in bedrooms, bathrooms and Kitchens. Ensure the standard of cleanliness and maintenance required by the company is adhered to at all times.

SALARY: £9.70 – £10.50 per hour.

Negotiable with experience and satisfactory professional references

CONTRACT: This is a Permanent position including most weekends as per rota – various hours per week. 16 hours/week

LOCATION: The Housekeeping Department within Belmore Court & Motel, Enniskillen and the Lodge at Lough Erne

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Fluent English Speaker

Essential skills in English language and Maths

Communication skills

Knowledge of Cleaning Techniques

Ability to work weekends

DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Training or formal education in a hotel environment

Previous experience in an Accommodation Housekeeping Role - Minimum 1 year

Level 2 – Health & Safety at Work

Fire & Safety Prevention

World Host

Knowledge of the hospitality sector

Customer care skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To have a precise knowledge of the following:

  • Accommodation
  • Routine cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. Making beds, changing linen, communicating hotel services to guests, security checks of equipment in rooms. In all these duties customers are to be treated with courtesy and attention as will maintain their satisfaction with the services provided by the hotel.
  • To ensure all rooms are supplied with adequate toiletries to meet the hotel standard.
  • To separate any damaged and badly marked linen from that to be used and return to linen room.
  • To hand immediately to Manager any lost property found, noting date, time and place.
  • To keep clean and tidy vacuum cleaners, buckets, cloths in all service rooms/areas used.
  • To be fully competent in the usage of the relevant laundry systems.
  • Maintenance
  • To treat all equipment with care, and report any faults to the Manager.
  • Stock Control
  • To keep careful account of all laundry stock levels and inform the Head Housekeeper when levels fall to a minimum.
  • Social Skills
  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, with a cheerful disposition, reliable and honest.
  • Personal Qualities
  • To be able to work alone or with others; a practical approach to work and flexible.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:

  • To take action in case of emergency as directed by management.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by the management.

HOURS OF WORK:

Usually working various hours/week between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm. Working most weekends.

Some flexibility may be given to the start/finish time.
