Our Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital incorporates Children’s Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency, Neonatal and Outpatient care. We treat children and young people across a broad range of specialties including Paediatric Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and much more. We also have a dedicated Surgical and medical HDU. Our collaborative team care to children living in Norfolk and for those accessing specialist treatments across the Eastern Region.

We are looking to employ highly motivated and skilled housekeeper Band 2 who will be responsible for the delivery of essentials to children and their families admitted to the Jenny Lind Children Hospital by ensuring cleanliness and maintain tidiness in all areas.
1. To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at ward level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary with also checking emergency equipment is available by all beds i.e. oxygen tubing, masks, Suction

The following skills and experience will be required and are essential for the successful candidates:
  • Establish and maintain a working rapport with midwifery and medical, technical, ancillary and administration colleagues
  • Help with cleaning and maintain tidiness in all areas, ensuring areas are free of clutter
  • Assist with the cleaning of all equipment and quality testing of specialised equipment
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at ward level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary
  • To check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the Ward Coordinator and liaise with the linen room to rectify problems. Ensure dirty linen is bagged and disposed of correctly
  • Check emergency equipment is available by all beds, i.e. oxygen tubing, masks, suction
  • Check oxygen and suction is working correctly and ensure portable oxygen cylinders are full
