Florence Nightingale is looking for a Housekeeper to join its warm, friendly and supportive team.
As our Housekeeper, you will work as an integral member of the team to facilitate a clean and safe ward environment, liaising with the ward
manager/senior nurse on duty and nursing staff to identify and undertake all non-clinical tasks, to establish a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and environment for patients, visitors and staff.
The role requires a flexible attitude to allow the needs of the service to be meet and a friendly, empathetic manner to help support our elderly patients.
Your role will be to undertake discharge/terminal cleaning of the patient’s bed space, chairs, lockers and monitoring equipment on all patient’s discharge /transfer as per policy and in accordance with the Senior Nurse in charge instructions and prepare the bed space for the next patients admission.
You will ensure that all oxygen and suction units by each bed are checked on a daily basis, are single use, clean, tidy and in good working order and that the equipment room is kept clean and tidy and that all equipment is clean, stored safely and in good repair- ready for clinical use.
You will be responsible for reporting any broken/defective equipment to the trusts helps desk or other relevant departments and inform the Senior Nurse on duty of your actions.
