A Band 2 Theatre Housekeeper is required for our busy Day Surgery Unit. The theatre department at The New Victoria Hospital Day Surgery Unit consists of 8 theatres with associated recovery facility and admission and discharge unit. We offer a variety of specialities including Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General, Maxilla facial and Gynaecology. The department is fully committed to increasing our capacity to care for increasingly complex patients as per the British association of Days Surgery recommendations. Whilst no experience is necessary as training and support will be given, experience in a health care setting as well as moving and handling training would be advantageous. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure the upkeep of the Day Surgery Department and work collaboratively with all members of the Day Surgery team to attend to housekeeping tasks within the unit. The housekeeper will support the registered nurse and other relevant professional practitioners, where appropriate. You are required to demonstrate flexibility within your working week and within south sector. Whilst the hours of the post are flexible, the hours for this post would be over 3 days, Tues/Thurs 1-7pm and Wednesday 1-6pm. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be required for this post.
