English Heritage cares for over 400 historic monuments, buildings and places. Through these, we bring the story of England to life for over 10 million visitors each year.

You will clean and present Walmer Castle & Gardens to an exemplary standard, ensuring that visitors enjoy a high quality experience and the site and contents are cared for appropriately.
In this role, you will:
1.Undertake presentation cleaning of all of the visitor and staff facilities, ensuring that they comply with standards set out in the Visitor Operations Manual.
2.Undertake routine cleaning of the historic property as specified by the line manager, conservation team and curator.
3.Follow specific cleaning protocols for historic objects and record these activities appropriately.
4.Undertake routine cleaning of the education centre and the facilities within.
5.Promptly report any maintenance issues.
6.Ensure that the site is checked regularly for safety hazards and that appropriate actions are taken.
7.Ensure compliance with all English Heritage health and safety standards, e.g. Risk Assessments, COSHH, PPE and Manual Handling.
8.Report accidents and incidents as appropriate.
You will be required to cover the holiday cottage housekeeping, approx. 5 weeks per year (this will be additional pay).
