The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering and maintain exceptional cleanliness of childcare, health, fitness, and aquatic spaces during business hours and instilling the Y’s core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty. The Housekeeping Manager will ensure cleanliness on scheduled security rounds throughout operational hours. In addition, the Housekeeping Manager provides guidance, coaching, and feedback to housekeeping attendants and volunteers during business hours, while building relationships with our members.

- Ensures cleanliness on scheduled security rounds throughout operational hours, as well as mixes pool chemicals, in accordance with strategies and targets.
- Responsible for managing housekeeping contractors, where applicable, including daily checks, scope review and performance monitoring.
- Helps with setup and takedown of program spaces, special events, and other equipment.
- Delivers exceptional customer service as per YMCA S.A.M. Standards and best practices.
- Ensures the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all members and staff.
- Supports a team that provides excellent cleaning services through guidance, coaching, and feedback to Housekeeping employees and volunteers.
- Assists with training new staff/volunteers in department procedures and best practices.
- Responsible for scheduling, providing relief coverage as needed as well as arranging coverage for the Facilities team as required.
- Responsible for managing inventory of housekeeping supplies and monitoring the performance of the vendors.
- Ability to work under stress and minimal supervision.
- Receive work orders on a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), dispatch the work and close completed tasks.
- Be a leader in safety and grow the culture within the team.
- Respond to emergencies and attend site when required.
We'd love to hear from people with:
- 3 years of experience in housekeeping and/or people management
- Upon request provide 3 references. A minimum of 2 will be professional in nature (eg. Employer, Supervisor or Colleague.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check. Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than [six (6) months] preceding your start date. The YMCA will provide applicable instructions and paperwork.
- Good time management and reporting skills.
Salary range: $25.50/hr - $31.34/hr
