Part-time Housekeeper PM
The School
Founded in 1915, St Christopher School is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3-
18. We have 535 pupils and 199 teaching and support staff. We have no school uniform and everyone is called
by their first name. We have no religious affiliation and welcome students and staff of all faiths and none.

Job Outline:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-time Housekeeper working afternoon shifts reporting to the
Housekeeping Manager.
Main Purpose
To work as part of a busy housekeeping team to ensure that our classrooms, corridors, common areas, toilets,
office and other areas are kept clean.
General Duties
Keep classrooms, corridors, common areas, toilets, offices and any other areas designated clean and tidy,
ensuring the highest standards are achieved at all times.
To empty waste paper bins, sweep floors, vacuum carpets, dust, make beds as directed.
Ensure that floor areas are maintained to a high level including reporting anything which may cause problems
under Health and Safety
To ensure that all students room areas are clean.
To maintain daily all bathroom and toilet areas to a clean and hygienic standard
Assist in all before and end of term deep cleans
To ensure that you are aware of all COSHH regulations relating to any product used and to comply with the
Personal Protective equipment at work regulations 1992.
Report any defects or breaches of health and Safety to the Housekeeping Manager immediately; follow up any
items, removing any broken items and replacing when required if possible.
To assist in other areas within the department and School as properly directed by the House Service manager
from time to time.
To create a safe environment by ensuring that agreed codes of practice are adhered to and to comply in
particular with fire regulations in closing all fire doors after cleaning corridors.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be:
Hardworking and friendly
Flexible and adaptable to change when needed
Have good communication skills
Previous experience would be preferred
Hours of Work
Part-time hours, starting at 1600 to 2000 Monday to Friday, a total of 20 hours per week, 37 weeks per
academic year (term-time +) An early start time of 1530 can be considered for the right candidate.
Salary
£11.03 per hour
