Job Description – Office Building Cleaner

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will clean their assigned spaces according to established procedures and policies. They will apply knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and use cleaning equipment as required to clean to standard, the Tenant suites and the common areas of the buildings. They will conduct themselves with integrity and demonstrate respect for Tenants and Visitors alike.
Responsibilities:
- Clean assigned spaces to standard.
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as outlined.
- Work with the Cleaning & Maintenance Supervisor to incorporate any monthly or additional cleaning duties.
- Re-stock supplies as necessary to janitorial rooms and cleaning carts.
- Re-stock as necessary, paper towel, toilet tissue, hand soap, and hand sanitizer to suites and common areas.
- Handle cleaning and other materials in accordance with WHMIS.
- Practice safe handling of both power and non-power equipment.
- Report any damage or deficiencies to your supervisor.
- Report any suspicious activity witnessed by you to your supervisor.
- Remove snow and ensure safe access to main entrances and walkways.
- Interact professionally with Tenants and Visitors.
- Request training on any procedures or equipment with which you are unfamiliar.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Relationships:
Reports directly to the Cleaning & Maintenance Supervisor. Will interact with the Director over Commercial and Industrial Properties and may interact with Tenants and Visitors of the buildings.
Experience:
- Two to five years cleaning experience.
Skills & Qualities – must have the ability to:
- Clean to standard safely.
- Organize & attend to detail.
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Use cleaning equipment; carpet extractors, grout cleaners, floor maintainers…
- Communicate respectfully and professionally.
- Demonstrate integrity.
- Provide a clean criminal background check and pass all necessary security clearance requirements.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Experience:
- Cleaning: 2 years (preferred)
- Janitorial/Office Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
