Claremont Private Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Housekeeper to join the team. Including also Evening Shifts.

Job Description
1. JOB PURPOSE:
To provide and maintain an excellent level of cleanliness throughout the hospital. This will be achieved by carrying out thorough cleaning in designated areas of responsibility using appropriate methods of cleaning with the equipment and chemicals provided. Areas of responsibility and details of specific cleaning requirements per area are contained on department cleaning schedules. The post involves patient interaction and excellent standards of customer service are therefore required.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain hospital cleanliness to the agreed standards using the cleaning schedules provided.
- Complete cleaning schedules as instructed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Ensure that cleaning schedules are signed off once completed to prove that each area has been cleaned to the required standard.
- Provide excellent levels of customer services to patients and visitors and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Ensure that personal hygiene and appearance including the uniform provided is of a high standard.
- Ensure the correct use and care of cleaning equipment, avoiding wastage or misuse of hospital property.
- To ensure that all linen used is freshly laundered and is not stained or damaged; where there is damage this should be reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- To ensure all shelves, skirting boards, picture frames and windowsills are dusted daily in patient rooms and patient areas
- To maintain the patients privacy; if a patient requests to have their room cleaned at a particular time this should be reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.
- Report any damage to the working area, either building fabric or equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.
- Helping in the creation of a good working atmosphere through special emphasis on team spirit and good communications with all work colleagues in other departments
- At all times maintaining the working environment in a clean, neat and decluttered manner and adhering to Infection Prevention procedures and practices to proactively contribute to the protection of patients, visitors, and staff from acquiring a healthcare associated infection.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential -
Educational qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent pass in Maths and English.
- A good standard of spoken and written English
Specific training/skills /knowledge required:
- Job prioritisation
- Basic health and safety principles and how to spot and work with risks in the workplace
Experience
- Dealing with customers in previous roles
- Previous cleaning experience
General temperament:
- Ability to work under pressure
- Reliable and Trustworthy
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Smart personal appearance
- Ability to work alone and within a team environment
Desirable -
Specific training/skills /knowledge required:
- Experience of using a scrubbing/buffing machine
- Generic knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and their uses.
