Job description
Are you interested in spending time on beautiful Grand Manan island (New Brunswick)? Are you a lover of the environment, community and hospitality?
We are looking for someone who is interested in being part of one of Grand Manan’s most unique places, Castalia Marsh Retreat!
This person must be:
-Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
-Well organized;
-Good with time management;
-Good with people;
-Physically able to climb ladders/stairs, make beds in tight spaces, carry laundry etc
-Drive an ATV and/or golf cart;
-Environmentally conscious.
Responsibilities include:
-Cleaning all cabins and trailers (cleaning washrooms, making beds, cleaning floors and kitchen), ensuring supplies are fully stocked in each;
-Cleaning common use areas such as washrooms, front office and Gathering Place (communal space);
-Laundry;
-Keeping track of all cleaning and cabin supplies, ordering more when needed;
-Helping guests with requests for extra supplies;
-Other duties as needed (gardening, maintenance, painting, etc)
Pay STARTS @ $17 per hour. Increase depends on organizational skills, efficiency, and reliability. Hours are flexible, usually mid-morning until late afternoon (10am-4pm, 7 days a week depending on check-outs). More hours per week depending on willingness to do other jobs such as painting, gardening, landscaping, sewing, and any other job that need to be done in order to run the business well.
HOUSING PROVIDED on-site (small trailer, suitable for 1-2 people max.) Our retreat is rustic and therefore you must be comfortable living in a eco-conscious way, living communally, etc. We are looking for the right person who is interested in spending several months on the island, giving you lots of free time to explore and enjoy what Grand Manan has to offer!

Contract length: 4 months
Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
