Job description

Are you a hard-working, friendly individual who takes pride in their work? Yes - then the housekeeper role in Burns is the job for you! This is an exciting opportunity for a Housekeeper to join the Burns team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking, housekeeper who will work as an integral part of the ward team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times. Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload. It is necessary to have a flexible approach within this role and be able to respond appropriately to the demands of an ever changing workload. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with and helping patients throughout the working day. You will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone. The post holder will be expected to take ownership of the stock levels within the ward, to include ordering of stock. You will be expected to work shifts inclusive of weekends and evenings within a rota system. Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is the first of its type in the UK. Importantly, it also gives us a greater voice in shaping the future of family-centred care. Birmingham Children's Hospital is a UK leading specialist paediatric centre with an international reputation in several areas. Birmingham Women's Hospital is one of two dedicated women's hospitals in the UK, with the busiest single site maternity unit, delivering more than 8,200 babies a year offering a full range of gynaecological, maternity and neonatal care. Forward Thinking Birmingham (FTB) Mental Health Services are a unique, innovative community and inpatient mental health partnership. Alongside partners FTB offers care pathways of mental health assessment and treatment for young people aged 0-25 years old. Our Trust is committed to creating the best place to work.
