Job description
Counsel, Content & EMEA Disputes Responsibilities:
- Counsel internal operations teams managing legal reporting channels and other intake channels
- Develop creative and pragmatic approaches to managing legal risks associated content policy development, application and enforcement
- Work with cross-functional teams on public policy, communications, global operations, legal operations, product, privacy, IP, and ethics/compliance
- Support and help efficiently resolve escalations involving content, including legal takedown requests and policy and press inquiries, among others
- Provide legal advice across many subject areas, including global legal frameworks, intermediary liability, data protection laws, and emerging content regulation trends
- Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple legal matters
Minimum Qualifications:
- EU or UK-qualified lawyer with 1-3 years PQE in a law firm or in-house
- Substantial litigation and/or regulatory experience, including experience dealing with legal / contentious matters, ideally across multiple jurisdictions
- Deep understanding and experience of EU intermediary liability frameworks, including the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation 2022/2065)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in one or more European languages
