Are you a house keeper looking for a new job opportunity?

We are looking for a house keeper to clean specific areas of Napier Lodge, a newly opening mental health care home in Hampshire. The ideal candidate must be able to work well on their own and manage their work load effectively.

Specific duties of the house keeper include:

  • Undertake general cleaning of all areas of the building
  • Complete weekly stock take of cleaning materials and equipment
  • Ensure materials and equipment are fit for purpose
  • Undertake any other duties as requested
  • Work under the direction of the manager and agreed policies and procedures of the home
  • Each residents bedroom to be checked and cleaned at least once per week or as directed
  • All public rooms and bathrooms to be cleaned daily and thoroughly at least once per week
  • To carry out cleaning duties per schedule
  • Maintain cleaning records and have them ready for inspection on demand
  • To be aware of C.O.S.H.H. regulations as well as the requirements of environmental health, fire and health and safety executives
  • Attend staff meetings and training days where applicable
  • Complete mandatory e-learning relevant to the role
  • Carry out other duties that may be required from time to time
  • Be flexible when required

  • Be responsible for personal health and safety at work
  • Be aware of safeguarding adults at risk, and responsibilities and procedures in place for reporting any concerns
  • Work within the company's policies and procedures
  • Set a good example through presentation, personal appearance and conduct
  • To make the registered manager aware of personal professional development needs
  • Participate in the company's training and staff appraisal
  • Handle confidential information with due care and maintain confidentiality both of the homes affairs and those of its service users
