Job Purpose
To ensure Front of House Reception standards are of an exceptionally high standard, in line with The Club Company expectations.
To maintain a high profile within Hotel for our guests, ensuring their feedback is monitored and relayed back to departmental managers in order to improve service levels.
Reception Overview
- Follow departmental operating procedures
- Ensure that guests are greeted "with a smile" and that all registration formalities are correctly completed, paying particular attention to charge-out details and credit rules.
- Welcoming and checking in guests upon their arrival at the hotel and offering an excellent standard of hospitality throughout their stay.
- Aware of the configuration of the rooms and be able to direct accordingly
- Assist with enquiries about the resort and locality
- Being the first point of contact for any questions or queries guests may have.
- Doing basic administration including inputting reservations and answering the telephone.
- Provide the highest quality of guest service standard with the aim to exceed expectations at all times, whether by operations or administration.
- Predominantly focus and assisting in our front of house operation, our guest requirements and fulfil the necessary administrative duties.
- Prompt and efficient operational services meet required standards.
- Arrivals are checked in correctly, allocated a room and sent to their room without delay.
- Reservations are taken correctly and courteously (see below)
- To ensure that enquiries, messages & deliveries are dealt with courteously and efficiently.
Reservations Overview
- Respond quickly and efficiently to all in-coming sales enquiries, by telephone, fax and email, preparing brochures as required [target is on shift]
- Greets guests over the phone in a friendly, courteous manner & completes the reservation call in line with the quality standards
- Records reservation information accurately
- Identifies and records special billing instructions; approves credit after consultation with your line manager
- Files all reservations in a systematic order for easy referral
- Ensuring that all rates quoted are in line with the hotel and company selling strategy
The Candidate (You!).
· Demonstrate passion & enthusiasm for hospitality with a self-driven hands on attitude and approach
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, point of sale systems, and financial reporting
· Knowledge of Rezlynx desired but not essential.
· Knowledge of ‘hotel’ up-sales techniques and business etiquette and practices
· Speak English and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
· Relate to the public in a warm, friendly and professional manner
· Work & promote a positive team environment, however, also to be to work alone at times & be proactive
· Excellent written and oral communications with strong interpersonal skills
· Confident, clear and effective decision maker
· Identify and assess sales opportunities with sound judgment skills and commercial awareness
· Analytical and logical approach to problem solving
· Skills in planning, prioritising, organising and methodical by nature
· Adaptable to changing situations/ scenarios
· Self-motivated, driven and determined
· Possess a hard working dedicated attitude with a flexible approach to working hours.
· Position requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, and the ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking all day
· Provide high quality of customer service standards, aiming or exceed expectations at all times
Shift Patterns:
- 6:45am to 3:15pm
- 1:30pm to 10:00pm
- Mid shifts also available
- Weekend availability

Due to the rural location of Woodbury Park, applicants must have access to their own transport and a full, clean UK driving licence.
Job Type: Temporary contract
Contract length: 4 months
Salary: Up to £10.50 per hour
