Job description

As a hotel receptionist you will need to ensure that you are offering guests the best customer service possible and to ensure that all duties are being carried out in an efficient and professional manner in line with the standards required by the hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* To ensure that you follow all Brand Standards that are in place.

* To ensure that excellent customer service is given at all times to support driving customer service levels.

* Ability to take reservation bookings through the in-house system and deal with cancellations by phone, e-mail, letter or face to face.

* Check guests into the hotel in a friendly and efficient manner, allocate rooms and distribute key cards.

* Check guests out of the hotel and prepare their bills and take payment.

* To ensure that the reception desk and area are kept clean and tidy.

* To ensure effective communication with the housekeeping team regarding guests, room status reports and VIP’s who may require additional products.

* Shared responsibility for the switchboard and directing customer’s calls to the correct location.

* Answering questions about the Hotel facilities and the surrounding area.

* An ability to deal with complaints or problems.

* Ensure high levels of customer service at all times

* Keeping records for all transactions, delivery notes and invoices and to check through invoices when required.

* Responsible for balancing the float on a daily basis.

* Responsible for all hotel keys from each department and to ensure that they are signed out.

* Responsible for balancing the system at the end of each shift and to ensure that personal floats are correct ready to hand over to the next shift.

* To liaise with Front of House Manager and other Heads of Departments as and when necessary to provide the best possible service to guests.

* Ensure confidentiality for guests and not to approach any such guests for personal requests.

* General administration duties as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15/40 per week

Salary: From £10.42 per hour
