Job description

We are a contemporary 103 bedroom hotel, Mercure branded and part of the global Accor group.

We are recruiting for a customer focused outgoing individual to join our friendly reception team. You will have at least one years experience as a Receptionist and will be required to:

  • Develops high quality relationships with guests, from the moment they arrive and throughout their stay, in order to foster loyalty
  • Take into account and anticipates guests' needs
  • Handle guest complaints with sensitivity and escalate where necessary.
  • Takes part in and organises guest arrivals and departures
  • Ensures that guest documentation and information is available and up-to-date.
  • Ensures that information is passed on to other departments as necessary (floor staff, technical team etc) and to other members of the department.
  • Ensures that information is passed on to other departments as necessary.
  • Keeps track of the standard of services delivered, based on guest comments and quality audits.
  • Always acts as an Ambassador for the Mercure brand.
  • Acts as Duty Manager when required.
  • Ensures all guests receive a courtesy call after check in.
  • Participate in daily room checks.
  • Collates feedback from guests at checkout.
  • Ensure that the pricing policy and internal audit procedures are duly applied.
  • Maximise revenue by ensuring that the hotel's pricing policy and sales
  • Pitches are duly applied in order to optimise REVPAR
  • Ensures the brand and/or Group's loyalty programme is promoted to guests
  • Ensures that the reception and front of house areas remain clean and tidy.
  • Processes, group and individual guest invoicing
  • Processes recording and cash operations while on duty
  • Ensures cash management is correctly handled
  • Ensures the safety of people and property in the hotel by demonstrating an understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Safety
  • Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are reported
