Excellent opportunity to work in a 32 bedroom country-house hotel in the Borrowdale Valley, Lake District. Two AA Rosette award-winning kitchen.
Straight shift pattern, with some weekends off

JOB DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of this job is to provide excellent guest service, to maintain high standards of hygiene,
- Welcome and greet guests
- Answer and direct incoming calls
- Inform guests of hotel rates and services
- Make and confirm reservations for guests
- Ensure proper room allocation
- Register and check guests in
- Confirm relevant guest information
- Verify guest’s payment method
- Issue room keys and direct guests to their rooms
- Maintain clear and accurate records of guest room booking
- Compute all guest billing, accurately posting charges to guest rooms and house accounts
- Receive and transmit messages for guests
- Listen and respond to guest queries and requests both in-person and by phone
- Provide accurate information about local attractions and services
- Liaise with necessary staff including housekeeping and maintenance to address any problems or
- Complete and maintain any incident reports, daily activity reports or other reports requested by management
- Close guest accounts and check guests out
- Process accurate payment of guest accounts
- Inform housekeeping when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
- Monitor visitors to the hotel
- Maintain a neat and orderly front desk and reception area
- Standards and Quality service
- Monitoring and maintaining a close relationship with the other departments to ensure customers receive the best possible service
- Be committed to training courses and meetings scheduled for you
- Work closely with other departments and ensure guest expectations are reached and exceeded
- Be prepared to carry out reasonable duties asked of you by your Senior Manager
- Give feed back to your General Manager regarding any items that you feel can be changed or improved
- To communicate in a professional and friendly manner with guests and staff alike at all times
