Job description

We are a 4* Nottingham City Centre Hotel in Nottingham looking to recruit an energetic friendly team member into our front office team.

The position is for a part time ( 40 hours per week ) night receptionist.

The hours of work are:

Monday: Day Off.
Tuesday: 22:45 - 07:15.
Wednesday: 22:45 - 07:15.
Thursday: 22:45 - 07:15.
Friday: 22:45 - 07:15.
Saturday: 22:45 - 07:15.
Sunday: Day Off.

Monday's & Sunday's are days off each week, so 2 days together. Each shift worked will be done so alongside a fellow Night receptionist, so 2 people on shift.

Please note, you would be required to be flexible and be willing to pick up additional shifts to assist covering holiday's of the other night receptionists, thus working your days off when your colleagues are on annual leave.

Training for this position would initially require you to work in the daytime until trained and ready to take on the night shift duties.

As a hotel we are open 365 days a year and do not close. Therefore you would be required to work Bank Holidays ( these include Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day etc etc ) as and when they fall upon your normal working days.

The role of the night receptionist is to take over reception duties during the night which include:

- Checking in guests.
- Checking out guests.
- Taking cash payments.
- Making new reservations.
- Handling reservation inquiries by phone and email or in person at the desk.
- Handling questions.
- Dealing with complaints and finding a suitable solution.
- Looking after the security of the hotel during the night.
- Sufficiently communicating with colleagues (when they arrive in the morning to take over the shift) and providing them with a handover of all necessary information that has occurred during your shift.

Please note this list is not exhaustive is just an example of the duties required of the night receptionist.

An individual with hotel reception experiences is proffered but full training would be given to any individual without experience.

The reservation PMS system we use is Opera. We have no parking facility at the hotel so the individual would need to source their own parking arrangements or use public transport.

The individual must take pride in their appearance and as well as pride themselves on their reliability. They must also be extremely trustworthy and hardworking.
