College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / Centre for Open Learning (COL) & Moray House School of Education and Sport (MHSES)
Fixed Term Contract - Permanent: Full Time - 35 Hours per Week (workings hours can be negotiable)
Fixed Term to 30th November 2023
We are looking for a temporary Campus Room Assistant to join our busy Campus Facilities Team within the Holyrood campus. You will be organised, polite and personable and work under the supervision of the Campus Facilities Assistants. Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role. A basic qualification related to health & safety and a knowledge of Information Technology and Audio Visual equipment would be an advantage.
The Opportunity:
The University of Edinburgh Holyrood campus is the base for the Moray House School of Education and Sport and the Centre for Open Learning. You will provide operational support for all matters relating to a diverse range of buildings and facilities, health & safety and equipment for the campus. With a customer focus, you will support and enhance the experience of staff, students and visitors as they encounter the facilities on campus. Excellent communication, team working and interpersonal skills are therefore essential for this role.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Ability to communicate clearly across a range of colleagues
- Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different tasks
- Attention to detail in recording building and other health and safety information
- Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
