Hotel Manager Job Description

As a Hotel Manager will be expected to oversee all departments of the hotel on a daily basis. They must have an absolute commitment to provide the highest quality of service to our guests. You will be instrumental in achieving the hotel objectives of maximizing occupancy, maintaining and building on the reputation of the hotel, and ensuring that business objectives are accomplished. As a Hotel Manager, your role is to ensure the smooth running of all areas of the hotel. You will be the main point of contact of all guests queries and essentially be the face of the hotel. You will also be an inspirational leader and mentor to the Team.

A successful Hotel Manager will have a passion for service excellence and will enjoy working in professional surroundings. You must have an overview of each department and be able to influence if necessary the operation of particular departments. Having 'a hands on’ approach and an outstanding personality is an absolute must for this role.

The hotel manager must be able to guide the employees to work as a well-functioning team. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be a team player and an effective leader, able to set examples and foster a climate of cooperation. The goal is to enhance customer dedication and expand our clientele by strengthening our hotel’s reputation.

This may suit a current Deputy GM or Operations Manager looking for that next step.

DUTIES

· Manage the day to day operations of Hotel overseeing all departments ensuring they are running at their best.

· To support the effective management of operations within all departments through the advising on matters of policy and procedure and ensuring that all urgent matters are addressed correctly and in accordance with company policy

· Prepare staff rotas with respect to the needs of the business.

· Must lead by example and role model the expected behaviors while projecting a sense of urgency in responding to guests’ needs.

· To work closely with the Area General Manager to ensure the seamless experience is provided.

· Drive health and safety compliance throughout the hotel and make sure compliance is met

· Ensure site achieves 5 star EHO rating

· Develop Mangers & Staff through coaching, mentoring PDP plans

· Conduce quarterly appraisals with team

· Ensure recruitment procedures are followed by all and paperwork is correct by all HODs

· Support HR in D&G and any other matters arising following procedures as set out

· Review all holiday request and maintain cover within all departments

· Ensure training takes place as and when required and matrix is up to date

· Ensure property standards are being maintained by identifying cleanliness and maintenance issues by the use of daily compliance diary

· Ensure site is adhering to H&S, Food Safety & Licensing

· Other duties as specified by the Area General Manager to reflect the needs of the business.Conduct regular site inspection covering front of house & back of house to ensure that all standards are being met
