We are looking for an experienced and passionate Room Leader (Level 3) to lead in one of our rooms.
You must be a supportive and driven leader to support your staff and be an enthusiastic and positive role model. You will need to be passionate about providing the best care for the children in the setting and to create a sense of awe and wonder for all. You will be required to strive to enhance each child's development and help them to reach their full potential.
Excellent communication and confident.
- The day to day running of the room.
- Daily planning following EYFS ensuring all individual needs of each child are met including physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of each child.
- To provide a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities.
- To ensure the safety and well being of the children.
- Provide a positive role model to all other staff
Main duties and tasks:
- Maintaining at all times a high standard of professional conduct and a child centred approach to the care provided in accordance with the nursery policies, procedures, current legislation, the EYFS, registration requirements and any other guidelines issued by Hampshire County Council.
- Support and supervise other staff within your room.
- To assist in the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment ensuring they are all safe and hygienic at all times.
- To ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
- To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential at all times.
- To actively encourage children’s progress in all areas of development, types and stages of play, by interaction and extension of play activities.
- To be responsible for keeping the individual record file for each of the children in the key worker group, also maintain accurate records including registers, sleeps charts, nappy books, home books etc.
- To be involved in curriculum planning, policy writing and record keeping as requested by the Manager.
- To attend staff meetings as requested.
- To attend training as requested.
- To support the work and beliefs of the nursery by helping to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for children and adults.
- To work as part of a team and support colleagues.
- Provide feedback to the nursery manager on issues relating to your room and the nursery day.
- To encourage the participation and involvement of all parents of children attending the nursery and their child’s development.
- To be flexible with the working practices of the nursery.
- Be prepared to help when other areas of the nursery may be short staffed or with domestic duties, or other duties as specified by the manager.
- To ensure the manager is informed of the physical and emotional security of children and that anything that gives concern is reported to the manager or designated safeguarding lead.
