As a chef in a 4-star hotel, you would be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in line with the hotel’s standards and guest expectations. Your role may involve menu planning, recipe creation, ingredient sourcing, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining quality control, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. Hotel Chefs in St Albans Range of chef positions available: Wok Chef: Specialises in Asian cuisine, particularly wok cooking. You would have expertise in preparing stir-fried dishes, noodles, and other Asian-inspired meals. £26K – £28K Chef De Partie: You would be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, such as the sauté, grill, or pastry section. You would be in charge of preparing and cooking dishes, ensuring the quality and consistency of the food, and supervising any commis or demi chefs working under you. £26K – £28k Sous Chef: As the second-in-command in the kitchen, the Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef and assists in managing the kitchen operations. You would oversee various sections of the kitchen, coordinate with the Chef de Parties, and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. £34k plus overtime. Additional information: Overtime is paid after working 40 hours. This means that if you work more than 40 hours per week, you would be eligible for additional compensation.
