We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hospitality & Food Service team as a Hospitality Assistant in John Lewis Head Office, Victoria, London working in the Partner Dining Room and stocking the vending machines. Full time - 35 hours per week across Monday - Friday
Please note: the pay range for this role is £11.15 - £12.75 dependent on experience
What’s the role about?
You will be working as a part of a busy catering team delivering delicious meals for our Partners to enjoy whilst maintaining the highest possible standards in all aspects of catering.
This role involves working in the Partner Dining Room, serving on the counter and till providing excellent customer service to all Head Office Partners. As part of the team you will also be working in the dish wash area, helping in food preparation, checking food temperatures and making sure the tables are kept clean & tidy all the time for the customers.
Also as part of this role you will be responsible for checking vending machines to make sure they are clean and fully stocked to meet the needs of the customers.
What you will do:
Ensure that fresh food, snack and hot beverage machines are replenished and in a good working order
Ensure stock is stored in the correct manner and rotated to minimise food wastage
Ensure the requirements of the cold chain are delivered and Support the ordering and control of stock.
Ensure all counters and coffee stations are replenished and presented consistently and in line with agreed standards
Monitor and reduce wastage through correct ordering and record keeping.
Full compliance with Health and Safety Regulations
Carry out due diligence tasks and keep accurate due diligence checks and records
Ensure food safety requirements are maintained.
What you'll have
Good basic IT skills as will need to operate tills, smart devices and vending machines
Hospitality experience or customer facing role experience
A positive attitude
High levels of cleanliness
What else could you bring?
Food Safety Level 2 is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
