· Open the premises and restore the telephone service
· Signpost patients as per Health Centre protocols
· Alongside direct bookings via NHS111 make appointments for GPs and other clinicians via the clinical system as required
· Record requests for home visits when required
· Re-direct urgent calls to the duty Doctor
· Issue repeat prescriptions
· Liaise with the Team Leader on duty to ensure all appointment lists are updated daily and extract medical records as appropriate
· File patient medical records, results and letters
· Assisting patients with registrations and preparing medial folders for new patients
· Liaise with patients, hospitals and chemists as requested by GPs and Nurses
· Ensure the waiting and reception areas are kept tidy
· Ensure effective communications exists between the sites and staff, regularly updating the Team Leader of any issues
· To answer all incoming telephone calls in a timely fashion. Diverting them as appropriate, and/or taking and passing on messages
· Dealing with all telephone queries/requests from patients, and acting as liaison with the Doctor as necessary
· Greeting patients at reception, noting their arrival time
· Observe the waiting room, in the event a patients condition deteriorates refer to the Reception Guide and take appropriate action
· Supporting and assisting the Doctors during surgery times as required
· Liaising with secondary care providers and arranging transport as necessary
· Dealing with all incoming and outgoing patient notes
· Filling of patient information electronically and paper based records
· Maintenance of patients’ medical records
· Daily preparation of consulting and treatment rooms, ensuring all clinical areas are clean and safe for use at all times
· Ensuring Doctors surgeries are stocked with the necessary paperwork and forms to enable their surgeries proceed without interruption
· Maintaining and encouraging adequate security measures, ensuring all rooms are locked when not in use
· Liaison with attached staff, including Health Visitors, District Nurses, Midwives, Counsellors etc as required
· Supporting and encouraging other member of the Health Centre team
· Maintaining the safety of staff, patients and visitors to the Health Centre
· Any other duties as requested by the Team Leader

Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £20.83-£26.00 per hour
