Frontline Health Professionals are currently recruiting for 1x Radiology Porter to work within the NHS in Manchester on a Temp basis. The details of the job are below:
Radiology Porter
Hours: 8 hour shifts Mon - Fri between 8am - 8pm, exact times TBC - occasional weekend shifts and overtime may become available -TBC
Pay Rate: Mon - Fri £12.32 p/h, weekend shifts/overtime pay rates TBC
Location: Manchester
Duration: Fixed Term / Temp - TBC
JOB PURPOSE
To work as part of the Radiology portering team to assist the Charge Hand Porter and General Radiography Manager in providing an efficient and high quality portering service to all areas within the Radiology department. To project a positive image of the department and Trust to patients, staff and visitors. To communicate effectively with all staff to ensure that any problems are dealt with effectively.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical & professional
- To transfer patients to and from Radiology and other departments as required by the appropriate method, including bed, chair, or trolley.
- To transfer notes, clinical samples etc. as required.
- To prioritise their workload and that of their colleagues at times.
- To participate in moving and handling of patients, including using hoists and lateral transfers.
- To notify the Chargehand Porter or deputy on anything they consider to be of a poor standard.
- Provide the appropriate care for patients, ensuring that their visit to the Department is both safe and as pleasant as possible.
- To ensure that all appropriate documentation is complete and accurate and adheres to the General Data Protection Regulations. This includes computer data entry if appropriate.
- To project a pleasant, helpful and efficient image to all the Directorate's users.
- To ensure that patient movement equipment is cleaned regularly and as and when required in line with infection control policy.
- To act under instruction from clinical staff in the event of a cardiac arrest or other emergencies eg fire alarm.
- Full orientation and job training will be provided for successful applicants.
- Applicants need to have a good level of physical fitness, be confident and willing to speak to patients and have a friendly and positive outlook in their personality and approach to their work.
