This is a fixed-term contract running from August 2023 - April 2024 with a possibility of employment beyond this.

Working as part of a garden team of 7 and reporting to the Head and Senior Gardeners, you'll work alongside around 70 valued volunteers caring for the conservation needs of the park. This is a fixed term contract until mid April 2024, and you'll work 5 days per week.
Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. From the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a 'Cathedral in miniature', you can follow in the footsteps of Dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past

What you'll be doing:Working within a team of enthusiastic and friendly staff and volunteers, you will be helping us to look after this special place. You duties will include weeding, watering, deadheading and mowing, but will also include some pruning, propagation, harvesting and basic garden craft. You will work in a number of sites across the park including our 4 Acre walled garden, pleasure grounds and Mr Straw's house. Some weekend working will be required on a rota basis.
