Homewares Designer – London
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Homeware Designer to join GTHS, a successful and growing supplier to major retailers in Europe.
Based in our central London office, you will work on your own initiative and have autonomy by interpreting trends and developing commercial ranges.
Managing multiple accounts and building relationships with the buyers. Work closely with our Sales and Business development manager and merchandisers to ensure the customers’ needs are met.
Homewares Designer -The Role: -
· Research, identify and translate current trends for our homeware ranges.
· Working on trend at the start of the season and putting together your own mood / color / trend boards in line with customer profiles & critical path.
· Designing commercial, multi product, trend led ranges to present to clients. This will also include sourcing new fabric and products at the start of the season. Working on numerous seasons at once.
· Produce accurate and detailed sketches and tech packs.
· A background in print design for commercial home textile products is essential.
· Monitoring range and customer sampling from start to finish.
· Attend customer meetings in both UK and Ireland.
· Present trend/samples/developments in customer meetings and action any design requests with our merchandising teams
· Liaise with our merchandising teams in China on sample developments.
The Candidate: -
· Driven and Passionate.
· Print background in multi-product areas is essential.
· Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and priorities workloads, multitask.
· Familiar working with a variety of UK, Irish & European High Street clients.
· Strong presentation & communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and thorough execution.
· Creative, Trend driven with commercial awareness of retail and consumer trends.
· Able to confidently communicate and lead meetings with buyers & management understanding their requirements.
· Excellent computer skills of both adobe photoshop and illustrator with exceptional CAD skills.
