How you'll make a difference
In this essential role you will make a difference will be supporting our commissioned Homes for Ukraine teacher in providing initial support to schools and families arriving from Ukraine.
What will you be doing?
The work involves direct engagement with schools. Through the work with schools this will then result in working with families from Ukraine. This will involve support at school level in the following areas:
You will be supporting families settling in and their first days in school including supporting schools in the identification of any trauma or language needs-
You will be supporting schools in understanding needs from written and verbal communication and in identifying need -
You will be connecting families to other families that are settling with consent -
You will be required to liaise with the commissioned Homes for Ukraine teacher -
- In the role you will be working with Council departments, as appropriate, in looking at additional services that may support the child or young person
What we need from you
- You will have experience of working in schools or education settings in either the Ukraine or the United Kingdom
- It is essential that you are a fluent Ukrainian speaker or as a minimum a good grasp of the Ukrainian language
- You must have the ability to prioritise, plan, monitor and evaluate work and/or specific cases
- You will demonstrate a genuine passion to work collaboratively with children, young people and families to meet their goals and aspirations You should have innovation, positivity and dedication.
