Are you a Senior Sales or Business Development professional with experience in Central Government looking for your next big challenge? Well, here it is.
NEC Software Solutions and Snook have joined forces to create a team - NEC Digital. This will allow us to supply a new offering to the public sector, allowing for us to provide full managed services that are not only designed and built with the user in mind every step of the way – but also focussed on Positive Social Impact, Inclusive Design, and Accessibility.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to guide the winning and maintenance of clients in the Central Government and adjacent government departments to allow us to maximise the impact our products and offerings can have on both local and national communities. The role is home based, with travel to client sites – and this individual will work with Sales and Commercial Teams, collaborate with our exceptionally talented project teams, and align with our Bids Department to ensure trusted relationships are built and maintained across Central Government.
Our long term goals? We want to be the leading supplier of Research, Design and Development for Central Government. We want to take on a larger number of projects then before and to challenge ourselves. We want to future proof our business. We want to provide maximum positive social impact for as many communities, users of Central Gov Services, and individuals across the UK (and even beyond).
We already have some great contracts within Central Government – including the Home Office and Crown Prosecution Service – but we are keen to speak with individuals who are well versed in winning new business and accounts within this space. We already have an established Business Development Team within NEC, who have processes embedded to make the winning of new logo as simple as possible. We are already on the frameworks, and we are already producing work for the public sector that is recognised and respected nationally. What we are looking for is someone with a genuine passion to drive and build on what we already have, and someone who honestly believes in creating good. We want to speak with individuals who want to leave their mark.
In this role you will be:
- Strategically liaising with Central Government departments such as BEIS (Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy), DLUHC (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities), Home Office, DFE (Department for Education), DfT (Department for Transport), DEFRA, MoJ and HMPSS
- Identifying key stakeholders, contacts and building political maps for each department – sharing these maps with the wider SLT (Senior Leadership Team) teams, to collaboratively identify the best root to contact.
- Forming trusted relationships within the departments whilst ensuring they are aware of the capabilities of NEC Digital & Snook and the social impact design and build offerings, we can supply.
- Understanding business issues and identifying how our capabilities could aid the resolution.
- Analysing DOS & Framework opportunities.
- Developing business plans for new capabilities.
- Working collaboratively with our highly skilled disciplines, to utilise a vast range of experience and knowledge to create innovative and inspiring pitching strategies
- Knowledge of Central Government structures and ideally contacts within these departments.
- Experience working with Justice Organisations within Central and/or Local Gov, and third sector.
- Solid understanding of DOS and Frameworks used by Central Gov, and confidence to be able to use this knowledge to a strategic advantage
- Previous experience of shaping and solving problems utilising design, research, and development.
- Experience working collaboratively with numerous stakeholders across internal and external businesses.
