Pay Rate: £28,857
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: 4 on, 2 off - starts 05:00-07:00 - includes weekend working
Location: Birmingham (B46 1TT)
DHL, an award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Home Delivery Drivers Assistant to play a vital role in our daily distribution requirements. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar with all Manual Handling Procedures, with a committed attitude to Continuous Improvement, ultimately ensuring that all order deliveries are handled safely and in a timely manner.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices plus a high level of customer service, you will
- Making phone calls to customers whilst on the road, ensuring an excellent customer service experience
- Scanning products off the vehicle for delivery
- Accompanying a driver within your designated geographical area - involves manual handling of furniture products, up to 25 drops per day
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous practical experience as a Drivers Mate, within a logistics or similar environment.
- Previous experience of the preparation, distribution and handling of volume orders.
- Excellent customer service skills, both over the phone and face to face.
A recognised qualification in Manual Handling or Logistics will be well received.
