Pay Rate: £30,303.94
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Any 5 in 7, 6am-finish
Location: Carlisle (CA6 4SJ)
DHL, an award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Drivers Mate to play a vital role in our daily distribution requirements. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar with all Manual Handling Procedures, with a committed attitude to Continuous Improvement, ultimately ensuring that all order deliveries are handled safely and in a timely manner.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices plus a high level of customer service, you will:
- Undertake the manual handling, distribution and coordination of timely deliveries to a strict schedule and deadline
- Deliver furniture and wet goods into customers houses and rooms of their choice
- Installing wet goods - washing machines, dishwashers etc.
- Assisting the driver when required with maneuvers/driving within tight spaces
- Manual handling heavy furniture/wet goods up to 150kg
- Pre-calling customers to arrange delivery times
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous practical experience as a Drivers Mate, within a logistics or similar environment preferred
- Previous experience of the preparation, distribution and handling of volume orders preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
