*JOB DESCRIPTION* We are recruiting part-time and full-time Home Care Support Workers available to work daytime, evenings and weekends on a rotational basis. We aim to help our registered unpaid carers and the people they look after to meet their care needs, improve their daily routine and achieve their goals. Comprehensive induction training will be provided. Staff will not work unsupervised until they have successfully completed their induction. Enfield Carers Centre supports carers, and people with a care need 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A senior staff member will agree to the Care Support Worker’s working pattern. *DUTIES TO INCLUDE* * To assist with personal hygiene, for example, helping the person with care needs to have a bath or shower; go to the toilet etc. * To assist with dressing/undressing, choice of clothes and personal appearance. * To support the person with care needs with their medication. * To assist with mobility, including wheelchairs, hoists, etc. * To provide emotional support, companionship and a safe environment for those needing supervision and help. * To report any concerns about abuse or the welfare or safety of any adult or child they are in contact with at work to a line manager / nominated person/person on call. * To undertake specialised tasks as agreed and after appropriate training. For example, medication administration by specialised techniques such as feeding tubes (PEG feed), stoma bag care and assistance with oxygen therapy. * To support the person with care needs with activities outside their home, for example, community activities, shopping or attending medical appointments. * To provide support with organised group activities for people with care needs. * To prepare meals and drinks and assist with eating/drinking. * To help clean the home. For example: include washing up, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom and doing laundry. * To look after pets. * Respect the personal choice and lifestyles of colleagues, carers, and people with care needs, ensuring that Equal Opportunity principles are applied at all times. * To comply with ECC’s Code of Conduct. * To undertake any other duties that may be considered commensurate with the level of the post and that are set out in the care plan. *JOB TYPES:* Full-time, Part-time *SALARY:* £10.85 per hour plus travel time (when applicable) *COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:* All Care Support Workers must follow our Infection Control procedures and have a Lateral Flow Test as/when required. *BENEFITS:* Free DBS Check Paid training face-to-face and online 25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus 8 bank holidays Statutory sick pay Company pension Flexitime around your other commitments Casual dress *DAY RANGE:* Monday to Friday Every weekend Weekends only *SHIFTS:* Day shift Night shift Overnight shift *ABILITY TO COMMUTE OR RELOCATE:* Enfield (EN1, EN2, EN3, N18, N9, N11, N14): Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) *EDUCATION:* GCSE or equivalent (preferred) *EXPERIENCE:* Health and Social Care: 1 year (preferred) *LANGUAGE:* English, Turkish, Greek (preferred) *SHIFT AVAILABILITY:* Day shift Evenings Weekends Night shift
