Avaliable Job Today Highways Authorisations Assistant (6 month contract)
Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday
Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham
Via is currently looking for a Temporary Highways Authorisations Assistant to join our Street Works & Road Works Team based at our Trent Bridge House Office.
You will ensure that third party works on the highway are appropriately authorised and provide support to customers.
The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include: -
- Receive and process applications for highway services and third party works authorisations
- Respond to customer requests and enquiries and draft, prepare and issue authorisations, permissions, consents and licences
- Adhere to relevant processes for the consideration of applications and granting of authorisations and accurately record all transactions
- Take payments and operate cash and banking procedures in accordance with company requirements and financial regulations
- Receive and review notifications of abnormal load movements and liaise with hauliers to enable movements
- Maintain records for Traffic Regulation Orders to ensure that they are readily accessible to all colleagues and that data published on the internet is current
- Carry out site audits of Traffic Regulation Orders and initiate remedial actions where necessary
The Person
Mainly you will be excited to be a part of a great team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:-
- GCSE English & Maths at grade C or equivalent knowledge of Street Works & Road Works
- Good ICT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office, internet and Asset Management
- Good customer service skills with experience communicating via in person, email or telephone
- Previous experience of basic financial processes for taking customer payments
- Awareness of current legislation, policies and procedures applicable to street works and road works
