Job description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Clinical Psychologist with an interest in Clinical Neuropsychology to work in the developing Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) provided by Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust (SFHT) in Mid Notts. The service has recently won SQuIRe catalyst funding to expand and widen access to specialist stroke community-based rehabilitation up to 6 months post stroke within Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood. The service aims to facilitate a smooth and timely transition from hospital to home, optimising stroke recovery, function, and independence. The ICSS delivers coordinated multidisciplinary rehabilitation to enable patients to maximise recovery post stroke. The multidisciplinary team is well established and has a strong ethos of patient centred care and high clinical standards. We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in stroke care and rehabilitation who is open to a new challenge and would like opportunities for professional and service development.
- You will provide direct clinical psychology input including neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention including assessment of risk and mental capacity. The post is embedded in the ICSS multidisciplinary team enabling delivery of indirect work including teaching, supervision, reflective practice, consultation, and the facilitation of a stepped care model of psychological care.
- You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, offering specialist rehabilitation in the community to achieve rehabilitation goals including the management of cognitive difficulties and facilitating psychological adjustment.
- Your duties will also include the supervision of Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists or junior Clinical Psychologists as required.
- Specialist supervision will be received from the Clinical Lead for Stroke.
- Remote working may form part of the role.
- We are linked with two local Clinical Psychology Training courses and there will be opportunities to provide teaching and placements for trainees.
- We strongly support continued professional development in neuropsychology with a track record in supporting clinicians to achieve the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
- We support research activities related to the stroke service including hosting a Clinical-Academic Fellowship award from the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
- Substantial training opportunities may be offered in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology.
