Job description
We are currently recruiting for full time permanent HGV/LGV Terberg Shunter drivers for our Severnside depot, to be responsible for moving and parking vehicles and trailers in the yard, working to site procedure and within the requirements of company compliance.
This is an immediate start for successful candidates.
Shifts available;
17:00 starts 4 on 4 off
18:00 starts 4 on 4 off
18:00 starts 4 on 4 off
Job description
- To ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment, adhering to hygiene standards, procedures and the “clean as you go” policy
- Responsible for carrying out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks.
- Full trailer audit completed minimum of two per shift.
- Loading bay check (DE010D) sheet fulfilled twice per day
- Daily check list for the yard to be completed.
- To monitor and record trailer temperatures to fulfil audit requirements and in line with procedure.
- Ensure all diesel and milk spillages are controlled in line with company policy
- To safely move trailers from the parking area onto the loading bay, moving to the despatch area once loaded.
- Responsible for following the correct procedures when “hitching and unhitching” the unit to the trailer, ensuring it is securely loaded.
- To adhere to company procedures when reversing in the yard area.
- To ensure that the “tug” or unit is kept clean and tidy inside and out.
- When required, assist with deliveries to other depots, ensuring that the vehicle is not overweight prior to leaving site.
- Responsible for ensuring Tachograph procedures are adhered to.
- Responsible for adhering to relevant systems and procedures in place for Product Safety, Legality and Quality.
- Responsible for adhering to all relevant systems and procedures in place for Health and Safety and Environmental Management.
- To act wholeheartedly in the interests of the company always.
- Controlling of Fuel Deliveries.
- To undertake any other duties as needs indicate.

Monday - Friday - Days (0400 - 1800)
£14.00
Monday - Friday - Nights (1800 - 0400)
£16.00
Monday to Friday- overtime after 47.5 days (0400 - 1800)
£15.75
Monday to Friday- overtime after 47.5 nights (1800 - 0400)
£18.00
Saturday Day (0400 - 1800)
£15.75
Saturday Night (1800 - 0400)
£18.00
Sunday- BH Day (0400 - 1800)
£21.00

30-minute break deducted per shift only!

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience: -
- Excellent Communication skills.
- UK Driving Licence with a Cat C+E entitlement.
- Digi & CPC Card.
- No more than 6 points for minor offences.
- Terberg Experience required, but not essential.
