About the Role - Organisation: Nottingham City Council

Salary: £36,298 per annum rising to £38,296 per annum for first year of anniversary – pro rata for part time (subject to satisfactory completion of probation period)

Working Hours & Contract: Full Time, Permanent – Annualised Hours – 1929 hours per year

Location: Nottingham Castle, Lenton Road, Nottingham NG1 6EL

We are pleased to announce we are re-opening Nottingham Castle, and as part of this great news, we have a fantastic opportunity to hire a Heritage Site Manager.

The successful candidate will be able to lead and inspire others to deliver an excellent museums and galleries service. The role will include to line manage a large team of staff at the heritage site and to ensure outstanding customer service is always delivered. In addition, you will manage the site and ensure that it is well maintained and provides an enjoyable environment for visitors and customers. The Heritage Site Manager will promote innovation and creativity that can contribute to increased income generation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

· Excellent Management and Leadership skills – able to convey a clear strong vision in a historic building, museum and gallery environment

· Practical experience and a strong track record of developing and achieving performance working within retail, catering, private hire and visitor management

· To respond to feedback from a range of sources on the customer experience and use this feedback to continually improve the customer experience.

· Ability to work effectively within a highly pressurised environment, where priorities and deadlines are subject to change

· Understanding of all legal requirements related to the safe management of occupied and functional commercial buildings including Health & Safety, Equalities Act within a historic building environment

· Ability to work across all museum sites, including evening, weekends and bank holidays
