Are you looking for a role in an inclusive, supportive and friendly organisation? Here at Sefton CVS, we are seeking to recruit a Heritage Development Officer to drive the delivery of our new heritage project here in Sefton.
Job Purpose:
‘Hearts of Gold – Sefton at 50’ is a new Sefton CVS project to engage, involve and celebrate Sefton’s people and places funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project will use Sefton’s golden anniversary in 2024 as the focus for a programme of activity designed to raise heritage awareness and establish a platform for continued community development.
The Heritage Development Officer will drive voluntary, community and faith group participation and co-ordinate this project, including five core project areas:
- Heritage Trails: the research and preparation of three locality based trails to cover north, central, and south Sefton, with particular focus on the people, places and events which have been influential in shaping the borough identity. The trails will be promoted with a travelling exhibition showcasing the borough’s heritage and commemorating Sefton at 50.
- Sefton’s Golden 50: coordinating a public vote to help select 50 influential people, places and events to present in a commemorative booklet to celebrate Sefton’s Golden anniversary.
- Community Grant Programme: promoting and delivering two rounds of a programme of small grants, including selection of, and support for, successful applicants. Each round will culminate with a community celebration event. Sefton Council for Voluntary Service (CVS)
- Capacity Building Training: working within the Localities team to deliver a programme of workshops for volunteers and partner organisations to help develop new skills and establish a legacy of increased heritage awareness and knowledge within borough’s extensive network of voluntary, community and faith groups.
- Heritage Project Development: a series of one-to-one and bespoke capacity development sessions to initiate and support additional heritage project development across the borough.
