Job description
The role and our team
The BEIS Counter Fraud team is looking for a counter fraud professional with the experience, skills and personal qualities for a Higher Executive Officer. The individuals will be part of the team managing the delivery of counter fraud activities across all BEIS schemes including, but not limited to, the Energy Schemes, COVID19 schemes, Local Authority Grants Schemes as well as managing Arms Length Bodies and a range of internal and external stakeholders. We lead on a range of areas, from the business support measures designed to protect the entire economy to the safeguarding of the country’s critical energy infrastructure. We are the lead department on Net Zero, the UK’s commitment to a net zero greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050. Overall, this makes BEIS an exciting and varied place to develop a career.
The individual will manage the day to day office and administrative duties for the team. This will involve engaging with a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside the Department to help BEIS and our delivery partners identify and develop effective counter fraud policies and processes.
The post holder will join a small friendly team working at the forefront of the Government’s Counter Fraud Profession. As the key link between policy teams, delivery organisations and law enforcement, these roles will suit those who excel at team working, has attention to detail and honed planning and organising skills.

Key responsibilities
Planning: Develop and maintain the counter fraud documents to ensure delivery remains on track.
Reporting: Support the reporting cycle. Ability to develop and maintain reporting dashboards and support the Counter Fraud Leads in the delivery of the Counter Fraud reporting requirements.
Risk Management: Lead on the collection of management information to help the team assess the performance of delivery partners and help the end-to-end management of fraud risks in BEIS. Deal with sensitive and confidential data in accordance with data protection requirements.
Commissions: Support the SEO and G7 leads on coordinating the completion of commission requests at a BEIS and cross government level. Actively participate in and contribute to any process reviews and preparing the process flow diagrams for the resulting output.
Governance: Assist in the coordination of reporting/MI as well as supplementary secretariat support such as collating papers, agendas, minutes and communications for various governance and BEIS counter fraud network groups. Ensure that the continuous improvement philosophy is embedded in the team by ensuring processes and procedures are regularly reviewed.
Stakeholder Engagement Support: Collaborate with the SEO to maintain and update the Stakeholder Engagement plan and ensure all partners in BEIS are effectively and proportionately engaged. Build and maintain strong working relationships with policy colleagues, analysts, other government departments, BEIS and external stakeholders.
Document Management: Manage the flow of information through the counter fraud inbox. Respond to correspondence and queries as required. Ensure all relevant data is accurately stored and labelled in the case management system / on sharepoint. Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective collation of management information relating to fraud, bribery and corruption across BEIS and Arms' Length Bodies.
Scheduling: Manage the Counter Fraud Delivery calendar ensuring the team and senior leaders are prepared to effectively support the business.
Skills and experience
This role would suit candidates who have a background in office management fraud in similar Government departments, focusing on maintenance of the processes of work to improve efficiency and productivity.
