Job Description

The Help Desk Specialists provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Educational Requirements: AA

Experience Requirements:

• Help Desk Specialist I: Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor. AA degree (or equivalent) with 0 to 2 years experience in the field or in a related area.
• Help Desk Specialist II: Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. AA degree (or equivalent) with 2 to 4 years experience in the field or in a related area.
• Help Desk Specialist III: May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. AA degree in a related area (or equivalent), and 4 to 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Experienced with working in a SAFe methodology.

NCEI is headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. This position may be worked remotely.
