INNOVIM is seeking Help Desk Specialists to support our NCEI Data Stewardship contract. Your career at INNOVIM helps NCEI to serve as the central archive for NOAA’s multi-billion-dollar investment in satellite and in situ observations, and model forecasts and projections. Supported by its Cooperative Institutes and Contractors, NCEI stewards the extensive physical and digital data holdings of NOAA and its partners.
Job Description
The Help Desk Specialists provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Educational Requirements: AA
Experience Requirements:
- Help Desk Specialist I: Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor. AA degree (or equivalent) with 0 to 2 years experience in the field or in a related area.
- Help Desk Specialist II: Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. AA degree (or equivalent) with 2 to 4 years experience in the field or in a related area.
- Help Desk Specialist III: May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. AA degree in a related area (or equivalent), and 4 to 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experienced with working in a SAFe methodology.
NCEI is headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. This position may be worked remotely.
