Stanford Coachworks is a professional coach building company based in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex. Our company produces a range of high quality accessible and/or bespoke vehicles with customer led requirements and finishes. The vehicles are purchased by a range sectors and users.
The main purpose of the role is to assist the team leader in installing heating systems and air conditioning units into the vehicles we build here.
This is a 'hands on' role which requires a person that ideally has a knowledge of auto electrics, diesel heaters and A/C units. Onsite training is available but a core use of any of the above skills would be best suited.
Previous experience with hand tools and air fed tools preferred but not essential.
F-Gas certification would be a fantastic qualification to bring to the role.
Working hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

Main Responsibilities:
- To assist the team leader to work to agreed timescales carrying out installations on accessible and / or bespoke vehicles within agreed specifications and according to SCW control plans and within the conformity of production
- To assist on all allocated heating and A/C jobs including building , installing and testing kits and all other relevant work.
- To help plan ahead for each job to ensure the supporting departments such as the stores and administration teams are best informed regarding ordering of equipment, tools and administration.
- To work closely with the team leader and to accept their direction, support, training and guidance in the installation of kits.
- To report any damage incurred to any products, tools or vehicles under their control/build programme.
- To help maintain a clean and tidy workshop.
- To ensure suitable focus is given to working in a safe environment, including the correct and constant use of suitable PPE equipment.
- To support the team leader in ensuring all relevant paperwork is filed /completed returned as required.
- To help ensure all aspects of the installation and related processes are within the relevant ISO quality system framework
Other Responsibilities:
- To actively contribute to a good team and team approach within SCW
- To report any and all accidents/incidents appropriately
- To make effective and efficient use of the other departments at SCW
- To work closely with all members of the wider SCW team
- To work within all health and safety requirements as dictated by the job and in accordance with all current legislation
- To wear the correct uniform at all times whilst working
- To cover other duties at SCW as and when requested
- To follow all relevant policies and procedures relating to the role and as part of the wider SCW business
- To represent SCW professionally at all times
- Anything explicit or implied as contained in the staff handbook and in the statement of main terms of employment
- Any other duties and tasks as directed by a member of the management team
