Healthy and Warm Homes Project Manager for 24 month’s full time

About the role


We are looking to recruit a project manager for our £20m Home Upgrade Grant programme and associated smaller programmes for the next 2 years. We are seeking a highly motivated person, with relevant experience in project management. They will be passionate about improving the living conditions and health of our residents.


The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of multi-agency projects, initially focusing on delivering improved heating and energy efficiency to 1,400 homes over the next two years.


The post will be based in the Wellbeing and Public Health Service, working closely with Inclusion Cornwall. You will lead a small team of experienced and dedicated staff. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in reducing fuel poverty, improving health and reducing the carbon footprint of housing in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.


The post is offered on a fixed term basis for 24 months.


About Us


The Wellbeing and Public Health Team service is part of Cornwall Council. We are passionate about improving health and reducing inequalities for the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We work closely with other services in the Council and with a range of local partner organisations.


As part of a wide range of public health interventions, we have been working to reduce fuel poverty for over a decade through a pioneering and award-winning winter wellbeing programme and a series of programmes to improve the energy efficiency of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly’s homes. This work is even more important now given the current energy costs, risk to health and the need to move towards carbon neutral.


About You


The ideal candidate will be looking to develop their skills in public health and will have:


  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience of partnership working
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and information and present information clearly and succinctly both verbally and in written form
  • Experience of supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of warm homes programmes that improve the health and wellbeing of residents or a related field would be an advantage.
