Working as part of the Primary Care Nursing Team under the direction of the Nurse in Charge the Healthcare Support Worker will have a significant role in delivering care to patients. The role will entail supporting clinical staff to deliver, routine clinics/care within the Health Centre and at times in the Residential Prison Halls, including Medication Administration, Health Screening, Clinical Treatments, Long Term Conditions Reviews, Medical Emergencies, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service.
You must display good communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and have experience of working within a caring environment. You will be committed to delivering high quality safe and effective patient centred care to this complex patient group within this unique setting.
The post will cover both sites; working traditional nursing shifts over a 7 day period however may be subject to change to meet the needs of the service as it evolves
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
