Healthcare & Rehabilitation Assistant

Healthcare & Rehabilitation Assistant Margate, England

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust
Full Time Margate, England 20270 - 21318 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Are you an experienced health care assistant who has an interest in developing your skills in rehabilitation? Or perhaps you are thinking about a career in health care and are interested in learning about enablement and rehabilitation but need a step on the ladder? We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, open minded people to come and work with us and break down some of the existing barriers in the provision of inpatient community rehabilitation.

Due to investment we are opening up 15 permanent beds at Westbrook House, Margate, providing rehabilitation to a mixed cohort of patients. 8 of these beds will form a stroke rehabilitation unit providing inpatient rehabilitation to patients who are currently unable to go home and require an intensive, specialist therapy programme to reach their goals. The other 7 beds will be offered to patients requiring other forms of rehabilitation or who are end of life.

In order to achieve the best results possible for our patients we want to create a 24/7 culture of rehabilitation on the unit and will provide specialist training to our bands 2 – 3 HCAs so that they can develop their confidence and ability to work with patients under the guidance of registered staff to deliver therapy programmes throughout the day as part of their day to day work with patients.

This will include specific stroke competencies with training and support to achieve these. For more information or an informal chat please contact Vicki Pout 07984068607
